The Beckhoff EK1501 is a high-performance EtherCAT to PROFIBUS DP gateway, enabling seamless integration of PROFIBUS DP devices into modern EtherCAT-based automation systems. Acting as a PROFIBUS DP master or slave, the EK1501 allows users to connect legacy or specialized PROFIBUS field devices—such as drives, I/O modules, valves, and sensors—to a centralized EtherCAT network without compromising real-time performance or system architecture.
Designed for industrial environments, the EK1501 mounts directly on the DIN rail alongside other EtherCAT Terminals (EL/ES series) and communicates with the EtherCAT master (e.g., TwinCAT-enabled PC or CX controller) via standard EtherCAT protocol. It supports up to 126 PROFIBUS DP slaves, data exchange rates up to 12 Mbps, automatic baud rate detection, and full diagnostics—including station status, bus errors, and module health—accessible via TwinCAT System Manager.
